Hello Ultra Team,
I’d like to propose adding Mealie to the application catalog.
What is Mealie?
Mealie is a modern, self-hosted recipe manager and meal planner (GitHub). It provides a sleek interface to organize recipes, plan meals, and automatically generate shopping lists. Recipes can be imported directly from most cooking websites or added manually with a powerful editor.
Why Mealie could be a strong addition on Ultra:
Superior import engine: compared to alternatives like Nextcloud Cookbook, Mealie’s parsing of recipe websites is noticeably more reliable and user-friendly.
Meal planning + shopping integration: plan ahead and export structured shopping lists with minimal effort.
Clean, accessible UI: a Vue-based frontend that’s intuitive even for non-technical users.
Dockerized & multilingual: easy deployment, with broad language support.
API-first design: future-proof and flexible for integrations.
For users already on Ultra, Mealie fills a real gap: while Nextcloud Cookbook is available, many find Mealie’s recipe import and overall usability much stronger.
If it’s a no:
Should this request not be possible, is it safe and supported for a user to install Mealie manually on an Ultra.cc slot without risking system stability or breaching policy?
Thank you for your work in continuously expanding and maintaining the app catalog — it makes a huge difference to the community.
Best regards,
