Plex Meta Manager is an open source Python 3 project that has been designed to ease the creation and maintenance of metadata, collections, and playlists within a Plex Media Server. The script is designed to be run continuously and be able to update information based on sources outside your plex environment. Plex Meta Manager supports Movie/TV/Music libraries and Playlists.

    PMM is like Flexget. Great apps but can't be supported as they're not for the target market.
    PMM requires a pretty good understanding of CLI and YAML. I am open to discuss it. How can we provide support for it?

      I agree. I'm using it currently, and it's a headache to set it up in a way that require no further 'tweaking'.

      • The biggest issue is the config part, which one to choose? There are SOOO many different variations and almost everyone have their own unique take on what their library is 'support to look like, so what's the standard look, depends completely on your own taste.

      • The second issue is randomly breaking dependency with each update. Some updates would completely negate a feature introduced in older versions, which will require you to build up your entire database from start.

      • Library setups. This one is directly related to first point. The config file requires you to entire EXACT name for the library and even if there's one extra space, the connection can't be established. So you would have to manually enter your library names, after that, what kind of custom stuff you want to associate with that library ... and other stuff.

      • That's it, I want to write more but I think I've portrait the gist of it. And also, I love bullet points, so writing this extra useless point makes me happy.
