qbittorrent 5.2 also introduced support for API key authentication (i.e. for qui and others) which would be a great addition security wise 😊

If it matters, 5.2.1 has a pretty critical security patch for SSRF. Its not always worth being up to date for normal bug fixes, features, or QOLs. But it’s a different ball game for security.

We regularly make new releases of our torrent clients available, but we do not immediately adopt every new version as it comes out. Instead, we wait for a significant update, thoroughly test it on our infrastructure, and only then make it available to users.
As such, there is no set timeline for when qBittorrent 5.2.0 will be made available, and it is likely that an even newer version will be released before we do so. We have also just last week released qBittorrent 5.1.4 as Beta on the User Control Panel.
If the latest release does not include any features you need, it is also worth considering whether updating is necessary at all. Personally, I am still running qBittorrent 5.0.1.
