To add to what OP said, the filebrowser that Ultra currently use is already on maintenance-only mode and is looking for new maintainers. But so far nobody has stepped up to become the new maintainer. And recently the original maintainer had a change of mind and said he wants to become active again.
There's a reason why people are driven away from contributing to that project. If you read the discussion, the maintainer has a history of questionable decisions. People took time to report bugs, only to have their work nullified by the bot closing the issues. And judging from his action saying he's gonna step down, then doing a 180 and becoming active again, it's not clear what the project direction is.
Something important to consider, check out the Docker Scout vulnerabilities comparison between that filebrowser and gtsteffaniak's filebrowser. The current filebrowser is riddled with many vulnerabilities.
I agree with OP that we should consider adding gtsteffaniak's filebrowser once its stable version has been finalized.

This request is still in review and is being considered. No decision has been made if we should add it to our offerings or not. I understand that you and others are eager to try it out, but please be patient as we work towards making a decision.

After careful review, we have made a decision to not replace our existing Filebrowser with Filebrowser Quantum. The reason for this is due to security concerns.
Although we could not oblige this request, we always appreciate customer feedback and requests.

if you have a policy to again consider and review the quantum software at a later time, let’s say the middle of 2026, then I hope you would do that. now the release is 1.03 stable and will get better. https://github.com/gtsteffaniak/filebrowser/releases

If improvements are made and there’s a significant audience wanting Filebrowser quantum, then we will certainly reconsider it.

not sure how notifications work on rejected items here, but just wanted to revive this to be reconsidered since the current filebrowser is now being sunset and quantum is said to be stable and secure.

We are aware of Filebrowser EOL, and have already had some internal discussion regarding Filebrowser Quantum and other alternatives. No decision has been taken yet, but we are looking at replacing Filebrowser with something eventually. Thank you for your patience.

I would like this to be revisited, as Filebrowser has stated that their final release has been made and will no longer be supported in the next few months. Quantum seems to have picked up steam in recent months, and stated that security is a top priority and already removed questionable features Filebrowser.
