4.3.0-stable was just officially released after 6 months of bugfixing:

    https://github.com/Novik/ruTorrent/releases/tag/v4.3.0

It seems there's been a lot of performance improvements since 3.10, which is almost 4 years old now.

will the new version fix the problem in v4.0 for creating new zip/7z/rar archives in ‘file manager’ ?

“Argument 1 passed to Flm\Archive::getCompressBin() must be of the type string, null given, called in /var/users/pitabreadultra/rutorrent/plugins/filemanager/src/Archive.php on line 3”

I’m afraid we cannot confidently answer this question at this point in time. Perhaps you can ask the developers of ruTorrent as they would for sure be able to answer.

okay. a few weeks ago i installed v4.3.6 (maybe beta?) and yes creating zip/7z/rar archives works except rar works only on individual files but not folders. and TAR+GZ, TAR+XZ does not work at all. so, in conclusion zip and 7z are the best options.☺

i installed rutorrent v5.1.5 web gui from the CP and it mostly works. However, the when I try to (right-click) Create - New Archive, the feature does not work, but only generates errors. I suppose that the ‘filemanager’ plugin is responsible for the feature. Could you please upgrade that plugin or fix the New Archive feature? Thanks.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

We're waiting for 4.2 stable (still BETA) to be released. Recent releases are hotfixes.

Just pushed a v4.2.6 on a box and it running just fine - so I would asume it´s safe for you to upgrade the installs now vs. the rather outdated ones used now.

Once there is a stable major release with significant changes, we will test it on our infrastructure to make sure it runs well and then we will consider adding it.
