Update 7zip to newer or latest version

Feature Request

Please update p7zip and all of its supporting libraries to version 24 to support the following: speed optimizations of archive unpacking rar, cab, wim, zip, gz, and speed optimization of hash calculation of CRC-32, CRC-64, Blake2sp, and added UTF-8 encoding to zip archives, and increased dictionary size for various compression methods that allows smaller archive sizes, and for handling of various archive files that could not be handled before - such as:

ZSTD archives (.zst filename extension), APFS (Apple File System) images that can be used in DMG files, VHDX disk images (Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual Hard Disk v2 format) files, (etc).

The added features list goes on and on when comparing p7zip versions 16 and 24….

    Our servers are currently running on Debian 10 and the packages included in the stable repo. However, as mentioned in our latest Service Enhancement announcement, we will in the coming month(s) start working on upgrading all our servers to run on Debian 12. This will in turn update all of the utility tools that are available on our servers.

      It’s a somewhat of a hassle for me, and probably other regular users, to manually find and install updated versions of apps one by one. For example: ‘yt-dlp’, ‘tubeup’, ‘ffmpeg’, ‘7zip’, etc. This is only possibly if they’re available as static binary builds. So could the Ultra cc team do that instead of relying on the (possibly old) packages in Debian 10/11/12, please?

        I’m afraid that won’t be possible on a larger scale. We tend to rely on those packages that are available in the stable repo of the Debian version. If we were to manually maintain each utility tool under the sun, we would open ourselves up to a lot of potential issues that come with bleeding edge versions.

        We already offer some +30 official applications, and +40 utility tools of the most popular ones. Anything beyond that would need to be maintained by the user themselves.

        However, you are always welcome to submit a request for an application/utility tool to be added, and we will take it into consideration. Please make sure to not double-post, and instead just add your vote if a request already exists. The amount of votes a request has will highly influence our decision.
