We try to update our 4 torrent clients regularly. However, we usually wait some time until we jump on a new version just to make sure it is stable. We will add the new version of Deluge to our offering soon.

How do you decide which apps get open updates and which only get managed/approved updates, out of interest? There are few apps where updates are available immediately and others not, just intrigued by the thought process. Thanks!

Most applications are containerized and will therefore receive updates as soon as a new image is available. However, due to how our infrastructure is setup, certain applications are not containerized. This is true for torrent clients.

Your message is 5 months old. Is there any change in updating Deluge to 2.2.0?

I’m afraid that we cannot confidently say when we will update Deluge to a newer version. As mentioned previously, we try and offer new versions regularly. However, we tend to wait until there has been significant improvements made and it has shown to be a stable version.
I understand that you are eager to try a new version, but we humbly ask for your patience as we work towards upgrading Deluge. We offer +50 applications, and our first priority is to ensure our infrastructure remains stable and secure.

then mark it not planned, and don’t give false hope. 6 months ago you said ‘soon‘. not cool.

I understand that it may be frustrating to wait for a new version to be made available. Please know that we do what we can to add new versions regularly, but as a small team, we need to prioritize security and infrastructure first.
If you do not want to wait for us to officially support a specific torrent client version, you can always upload your own binary and place it in your $PATH and it will be made available for you. I understand that this may not be the solution you wanted. I have conveyed your feedback to the wider team for further discussion.

How do you tell what version they are on in the Web interface?

Click the Deluge logo in the top-left corner to open the About dialog. There, you’ll see the client version, server version, and libtorrent version displayed.
