Client Area Login Process Feedback

UX improvement opportunity for the Client Area login form.

After clicking ā€œloginā€ it can take a substantial amount of time for the login process / feedback process to complete.

IE After I click login it can take 3 or 4 seconds (some times even longer) for either the login process to complete, or for an error messages to appear on the page.

So the following happens:

  • Login page loads

  • I enter my credentials

  • I click login

  • I wait for 3 or 4 seconds

  • Login process completes.

While this delay is primarily down to the recaptcha process in the background, and which cannot be helped, a loading spinner, or even an overlay with the word ā€œloadingā€¦ā€ would be a nice addition.

Just something that acknowledges that I have pressed the login button and that the login process is underway.

As this is not really a problem on desktop (for me anyways) a 500ms timeout is also an option to stop the ā€œflickerā€ on the screen for desktops, and still provides some sort of visual feedback that acknowledges the login process is happening in the background.

    Thank you for your feedback, it is very much appreciated. Rest assured, that we always strive to deliver a high quality service to our customers, and that includes UX and such things as site speed and log in functionality. However, weā€™re a small team and must therefore strictly prioritize our productive efforts. This unfortunately means that most of our time is spent on ensuring we deliver a bulletproof and secure service, and UX will therefore not be at the top of our list. It should also be said that the Client Area is native WHMCS, and not our own creation.

    That said, this is something that we are looking to improve in the future. So we kindly ask for your patience. Thank you
