Client Area Login Process Feedback

Hey guys 👋 UX improvement opportunity for the Client Area login form. After clicking “login” it can take a substantial amount of time for the login process / feedback process to complete. IE After I click login it can take 3 or 4 seconds (some times even longer) for either the login process to complete, or for an error messages to appear on the page. So the following happens: Login page loads I enter my credentials I click login I wait for 3 or 4 seconds Login process completes. While this delay is primarily down to the recaptcha process in the background, and which cannot be helped, a loading spinner, or even an overlay with the word “loading…” would be a nice addition. Just something that acknowledges that I have pressed the login button and that the login process is underway. As this is not really a problem on desktop (for me anyways) a 500ms timeout is also an option to stop the “flicker” on the screen for desktops, and still provides some sort of visual feedback that acknowledges the login process is happening in the background. Thanks

Feedback on Recent Infrastructure Migration – Communication & Post-Migration Guidance

Hello, I’m writing to share some feedback following the recent infrastructure migration. First of all, I want to make it clear that I am generally very satisfied with your services, and I regularly take the time to recommend Ultra.cc to others, including publicly. Precisely because of that, I feel it’s important to provide honest and constructive feedback when something could be improved. In this case, the migration was announced quite late and, more importantly, without real post-migration guidance for users. Since the service came back online, I’ve spent more than 24 hours dealing with a series of small issues caused by the migration: BitTorrent ports changed without clear notice, applications that did not restart automatically or remained partially non-functional, and misleading states giving the impression that everything was working when it actually wasn’t. Taken individually, none of these issues are critical. Taken together, however, they resulted in a significant and avoidable loss of time and stress—especially for sensitive services like BitTorrent. Concretely, this situation forced me to send several private messages (X PMs) to trackers I am a member of in order to “prove good faith,” after receiving a cascade of Hit & Run pre-warnings. These warnings were not caused by user behavior, but by the fact that qBittorrent was effectively blocked after the migration (ports not aligned, announces not going through), without this being immediately obvious from the interface. I fully understand that in the case of a true hardware emergency (for example, a failing disk or a critical incident), not everything can be anticipated. However, if this was a planned operation, I would have appreciated clearer, more structured communication, such as: “After the migration, please check your application ports” “Some applications may require a manual restart” “Here is a post-migration checklist to avoid common issues” Even a short set of guidelines like this would have made a real difference and prevented the situation I described above. I also noticed the upload capacity increase announced on your Discord, which is of course a positive change. That said, in my specific case—despite very large sharing volumes—I was rarely reaching the previous limits. What I am still waiting for, however, are more tangible evolutions in terms of storage capacity, which remains a much more structuring concern for me in the medium term. This message is not meant as a complaint, but as constructive feedback. Your offering is solid, and it is precisely for that reason that this type of migration would benefit from more careful customer-side guidance in the future. Thank you for your time, and best regards to your teams. Kind regards,

Absolute sh!t show

I wanted to upgrade to the new Metaliux server yesterday after the announcement. I was going to purchase first and then migrate, but I was told on Discord that I could simply submit a ticket to upgrade my current server instead. Taking that advice meant I missed out on getting a Canada server because of the misinformation provided to me on DC and in the support ticket. I have been going back and forth with Vitor in the support ticket, trying to accomplish what should be a simple task, but has turned into a complete headache. There has been a stockpile of misinformation seen/told since yesterday, and I am now getting a Metaliux NL server, which isn’t what I wanted, and I have zero idea when I’ll be able to get a CA server.

Thank you Ultra.cc for bringing JellyStat onboard

Big shoutout to the Ultra.cc team for adding JellyStat to the available apps With Plex’s new (and honestly, pretty ridiculous) policy, a lot of people have been moving over to Jellyfin — myself included. Having JellyStat right there to enrich the Jellyfin ecosystem is such a great addition. I’ve always been super satisfied with Ultra.cc, and once again you’ve shown that you actually listen to your community. That means a lot. So yeah — thanks for continuing to make the service better and better

Ask for additional information to verify before changing email address

All the information I was asked for (to change my email address within my ultra.cc account) can be easily found within the ultra.cc account, so if someone were to hack into it, then they would have access to all of that. It may be worth it to ask for additional information. Like asking that a specific (random) passphrase be sent to a certain discord channel that is associated with the account (maybe that doesn't allow non-staff to read past messages, but staff can see it all), sending a verification email to the email address on file, or having a backup email address within file that requires some sort of verification from that. I understand that there is a slim chance that would happen, as this is a paid service, but always better to be safe rather than sorry.

Uptime

I wanted to hop on here and say how impressed I am with the uptime of my ultra service. From the few months I have been using it my services havent been interrupted once (only down time seen here was from an update which I initiated) On top of that, my experience has been totally painless, and is so much easier and faster than hosting on prem which was what I was doing before. Great work!

Fixing update Script for Audiobookshelf

There have been decent improvements in the last 2 ABS updates, but the install script for Audiobookshelf defaults to 2.19.5. Would love to see that updated!

mktorrent with pthreads

The ultra documentation points to the Ubuntu version of mktorrent which is single threaded. This feedback request will explain how to make torrent creation multi-threaded using pthreads. It will make torrent creation 4 to 8 times faster on ultra infrastructure. The practical use case is a service enhancement for the ruTorrent web portal. Reference: https://docs.ultra.cc/books/pre-installed-tools/page/list-of-pre-installed-tools#bkmrk-mktorrent It’s required to the build-essential package to perform this task. Step 1: Download the source files. curl -sL https://github.com/pobrn/mktorrent/archive/v1.1.zip -o mktorrent.zip Step 2: Unzip the source files and change directory. unzip -d mktorrent -j mktorrent.zip && cd mtorrent Step 3: Update the build configuration with these recommended values. echo "CC = gcc" >> Makefile echo "CFLAGS = -w -flto -O3" >> Makefile echo "USE_PTHREADS = 1" >> Makefile echo "USE_OPENSSL = 1" >> Makefile Step 4: Build the software and install it to the same prefix. make -j$(nproc) make install PREFIX=/usr

server-based pings in discord

it would be cool to get a role based on what server you are subscribed to. Eagle, Beryl, Blaze, etc. select that role, then when your server is affected by an update you get pinged for it and nobody else knows. for large scale stuff, just make a role called all servers, and ping that. thanks

app vault = space upgrade?

I noticed that the tank storage section is empty and there is a new “app vault” section, if we select/purchase say “vault lite” would that be added to our space/plan or replace it? would we have the space and fees of our current plan +the 6TB of vault lite? or would our previous plan be replaced ? i rarely use much traffic usage but frequently have to delete things to make room ( I’m on the 3TB scorpion plan)

Give percentage of profit to apps

A majority of the apps available are open source and accept donations. So let's give them money as a thanks for letting us use the app and encouragement to keep working on them. I know that much of the profit is kept to build out future capacity, but even 5% would help

Make the product description for the App Vault Lineup More Clearer

Please make it clear in the product description for the App Vault lineup that the user will be on the same shared 50Gbps connection but only with a 1Gbps upload speed cap. All the Essential, Tank, and Bolt lineups state that the connection is shared ("Shared Upload Speed" + N Gbps). But for the App Vault lineup, it only says "1Gbps Maximum Upload Speed". Since all the others but the App Vault lineup state that they are on a shared connection, it is easy for the user to get confused. Just adding the fact that it was shared would suffice for me. For example something on the lines of: "1Gbps Maximum on 50Gbps Shared Upload Connection" I'm not that skilled with juggling words so just take the gist of my suggestion, if you would please. Thank you.

Put when something is solved on the status page

It's great that when there's an issue, there's usually a notice on the status page. However, when the issue is fixed / solved, the notice just disappears. It would be great to have a notice saying the issue is solved, and if it's something that a client needs to do (such as restart ruTorrent or redownload vpn config files), then put the solution in the notice.

Put service enhancements on website / elsewhere

Not everyone has or checks Discord on a regular basis. By putting the service enhancements on the website (say either as an announcement only for those logged in, and/or on the status page), it allows everyone to know about what's happened over the past month and what they can look forward to. It's especially helpful in the recent case of everyone having to redownload the vpn config files from the UCP, due to a reissuing. As some people may not want to log in to Discord without being on the vpn, and by having it on the website, it allows more people to read it.

Control panel - UI - Request

Hi Ultra team. I've only been using ultra for less than two months.. but one thing that i noticed as a bad user experience and which can be improved. Distance between Action/show info button and the details below the drop down is more. Personally I noticed this since I use larger screen more often. I've added two images one showing the distance which I'm talking about, and the other image shows how it can be for better user experience. Thanks.

Most Seemless Seedbox Experience Ever

was having some connectivity latency issues with my current SB which i have been using for 3 years? annoyed i looked at reddit say someone mentioned ultra.cc which i had never heard before. Looked at the plans they offered..and wow same amount im paying but 3x the disk space and 5x the speed? Decided to try it out just yesterday. Had trouble paying at first, within minutes community helped me out on discord. Tested out the box...i was blowwwn fkin away. Setups of apps were super easy and all the info you need to connect and run is either in the documentations or info panels. Speeds were insane for the price. I want to move stuff over from my old SB, contacted support and in less than an hr each, i got responses from them and soon after they were doing it for me. Seedbox = A* Support = A* Documentation of products = A*

Above & Beyond Amazing Staff

I had minor problem that had a simple fix and insteas they helped inform me of a better client to use for my stuff, things of the dos & don't but best of all before I was done with my support ticket they helped me to upgrade my plan to the I actually wanted but none where available; by the time we where done with the ticket I upgrade my service/plan and they are helping me migrate all my data to the newer servers as well as got back to me quick with an ETA on how kong it take to do so. I've been here a little more than a month and I'm just amazed at the quality of there products and how helpful the staff here is; I'd recommened this service if anyone I know was looking for a top notch site with great server/s & equally awesome staff.

filter app update notifications

The app update notification script is great but it would be nice to either pick which apps to receive update notifications for or to have it only provide updates for apps that you have installed. Not sure how possible the last one is but being able to pick would be great so I don't have to get notified about updated to apps I do not use
